Build Timeline

Step 1: Preparation (2-3 hours)

Unbox your kit, inventory all parts against the checklist, and watch the introductory video tutorials. Familiarise yourself with the tools and materials before starting.

Step 2: Jig Assembly (4-6 hours)

Assemble the plywood alignment jig and set it to your chosen geometry. Prepare the bamboo tubes by checking fit and making any final adjustments.

Step 3: Bonding (8-12 hours)

The main build phase. Join the bamboo tubes with epoxy resin and wrap the joints with carbon fibre tow. This is where your frame takes shape.

Step 4: Curing (24-48 hours)

Let the epoxy fully cure at room temperature. No work needed — just patience. This ensures maximum joint strength.

Step 5: Finishing (6-10 hours)

Sand the joints smooth, apply protective sealant to the bamboo, and install your headset and bottom bracket. Your frame is ready for components!

Common Questions

Do I need special tools?

No power tools required. Basic hand tools: hacksaw, files, sandpaper, measuring tape, and a work surface. Everything else is included in the kit.

What if I make a mistake?

Most mistakes are fixable. Epoxy can be sanded and re-applied. Bamboo is forgiving. If you're stuck, our community forum has seen every problem — someone will have the answer within hours.

What else do I need to complete the bike?

Fork, wheels, groupset, handlebars, saddle, and finishing components. We offer component packs with everything included, or you can source parts from any bike shop.

How strong is bamboo?

28,000 PSI tensile strength — comparable to steel. Our frames are tested to 100,000+ fatigue cycles. Builders tour continents and race on them.
