Our gravel frame is extremely versatile for on and off-road usage, giving you the freedom to explore. Bamboo is a perfect material for a gravel frame — its natural vibration dampening provides a smooth and compliant ride on gravel, ideal for bikepacking. Our frames are compatible with all major groupset manufacturers and can be fitted with Shimano GRX or Rohloff geared hubs.

Common Questions

Do I need special tools?

No power tools required. Basic hand tools: hacksaw, files, sandpaper, measuring tape, and a work surface. Everything else is in the kit.

What if I make a mistake?

Most mistakes are fixable. Epoxy can be sanded and re-applied. Bamboo is forgiving. If you're stuck, our community has seen every problem — someone will have the answer within hours.

What else do I need to complete the bike?

Fork, wheels, groupset, handlebars, saddle, and finishing components. We offer component packs with everything included, or source parts from any bike shop.

How strong is a bamboo frame?

~28,000 PSI tensile strength — comparable to mild steel, but lighter. Under 1% failure rate across 4,000+ builds since 2012. Tested with Swansea University.

What's the difference between this and the Gravel Lugged Kit?

This kit uses carbon fibre tow wrapping (more hands-on, more creative control). The Lugged Kit uses pre-formed aluminium lugs (faster, simpler joints). Both produce strong, rideable frames.

Is it strong enough for loaded touring?

Yes. Bamboo's natural vibration damping actually makes it excellent for loaded riding. Riders have toured continents on BBC frames. The gravel geometry handles panniers and bikepacking bags well.
