Nice 29er kit build by Matt

Utah red rock and a bamboo 29er. Some bikes were born for specific landscapes, and Matt's build looks absolutely at home on this canyon rim.

The warm tones of the bamboo tubes practically disappear into the sandstone surroundings. That brown leather saddle picks up the earth colours perfectly — intentional or happy accident, it works. The whole bike feels like it belongs here.

This is proper mountain bike territory. Those canyon walls in the background are no joke — we're talking serious technical riding in some of the world's most dramatic scenery. Moab, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef — any of these could be the backdrop.

The 29er wheel size makes sense for this terrain. Roll over obstacles easier, maintain momentum through rough sections, cover ground efficiently on the long approaches these desert rides demand. The suspension fork handles the technical bits.

Building a mountain bike from bamboo still surprises people, but the natural material handles trail abuse remarkably well. Bamboo has been used for scaffolding on Hong Kong skyscrapers for decades — it's tougher than it looks. The flex characteristics actually help on rough terrain, smoothing impacts before they reach the rider.

That view though. Sometimes the best thing about a bike is where it takes you. This frame clearly gets ridden properly, not just displayed. The dust on the tyres doesn't lie. 🏜️
