Rebeka built a belt-drive bamboo bike — and gave it five stars

Rebeka finished her bamboo-framed bicycle and built it with a belt drive rather than a conventional chain. She rated the experience five stars.

What she built

A bamboo frame from one of our build kits, set up to run a belt drive. Belt drives are a popular choice for everyday city riding because the belt runs clean — there is no chain to oil — though fitting one needs a frame designed to take it (a splitter in the rear triangle so the belt can be looped on).

In her words

"Had a fantastic experience…"

Rebeka gave the build a five-star review.

Why it matters

Every kit is built by hand by the person riding it. Rebeka's build is a good example of how far people take the platform — choosing a belt drive over a chain and ending up with a bike they rate five stars.
