Really interesting build by Stephen. Laminated tubing built using a home build gravel kit.

Stephen's home build gravel kit with laminated tubing. An interesting construction approach that shows the flexibility our kits allow.

The frame hangs in a home workshop, still mid-finishing. Those cream-coloured lugs will eventually be painted or stained, but for now they show the lamination technique clearly. Layer upon layer of material built up and shaped.

The setting is pure amateur racer's garage. 'Jolly Tri Club' whiteboard. UK cycling federation reference chart on the wall. Racing medals hanging nearby. This is someone who takes cycling seriously and wanted a bike as committed as they are.

Lamination adds complexity to the build process. More material, more shaping, more finishing. The result can be stronger and allows for custom shaping that standard wrapping doesn't permit.

The gravel kit geometry is visible even at this raw stage. Clearance for fat tyres. Disc brake mounts. The proportions of a bike designed for mixed terrain.

Home builds like this happen in garages across the country. No professional workshop, just determination and time. Stephen's frame will ride just as well as any built in our London space. 🏠
