Nice #commuterbike build by Alex.

That forest green marbled finish on the lugs? Proper commitment to making something different.

Alex built this commuter to handle London's unpredictable weather and potholed streets. The flat bar setup keeps things practical for daily riding, while the Hunt wheels with tubeless-ready Schwalbe G-One tyres mean punctures are mostly a thing of the past.

What catches the eye immediately is the lug treatment. That dark green with the textured, almost camouflage-like finish creates serious visual interest against the natural bamboo tubes. It's a technique that takes patience — building up layers of resin with pigment, then sanding back to reveal depth.

The carbon fork keeps the front end light and responsive, important when you're filtering through traffic or hopping curbs. And those platform pedals suggest this bike sees real daily use, not just weekend show-offs.

There's something honest about a commuter build. No pretence about racing or adventure touring — just a bike that needs to get someone to work reliably, comfortably, and in style. The phone mount on the stem says it all: this is a working bike.

The backdrop of that wooden fence and brick paving could be any London garden. Which is rather the point. A bamboo bike doesn't need to be exotic or precious. It can just be your bike. The one you ride every day. 🚲
