Home #gravelbike In progress.
Home gravel bike in progress. The frame sits on the jig, black tape bands marking where joints will be laminated. Tiger stripes of a bike being born.
The technical drawing underneath shows the geometry this frame will become. Our logo visible in the corner — the starter manual that guides home builders through the process. Measurements, angles, the engineering that makes riding possible.
Those black bands will disappear under the final lamination, but for now they hold the structure together while alignment is checked and rechecked. Building in stages means each phase must be right before the next begins.
The MDF standoffs position the frame at correct height above the drawing. Simple tooling that works — no expensive jig required, just careful setup and patient execution.
Process photos like this show what home builders actually see. Not finished bikes gleaming in sunlight, but raw frames waiting for the next step. The satisfaction comes later; for now, concentration matters.
Somewhere between this photo and a finished ride, this frame will become a gravel bike. The transformation happens through labour. 🏗️
