Bike of the year 5/11! #bamboobicyclegravel

Bike of the Year 2018. The badge says it all — this gravel build beat every other frame we saw that year.

The camo bar tape started a trend. After this photo appeared, we saw more builds experimenting with wild patterns, military aesthetics, tape choices that made statements. Sometimes one build changes what everyone else considers possible.

Against the corten steel backdrop, the natural bamboo and black lugs create a palette that photographers dream about. Warm rust, golden bamboo, dark accents — the colours work because they're all organic tones.

The spec is serious gravel: disc brakes, clearance for proper tyres, geometry that handles all-day rides on mixed terrain. The Tour de Sands sticker suggests an owner who knows their events.

Winning Bike of the Year requires more than just good construction. It needs vision — that extra element that makes people stop and look twice. This builder found it in the details: the camo tape, the confident stance, the way everything comes together.

2018 was a good year for bamboo builds. This one set the standard.

Award-winning for a reason. 🏆
