Packing up Dave frame all finished at a 2 day workshop, before boxing snapped a quick shot. Finished
Workshop floor parts layout — that moment when the frame is finished and the build can finally begin. Dave's got plans.
This is a belt drive single speed setup, and the component choices tell the story. Gates CDX belt system — that black carbon belt and the matching chainring at the bottom of the frame. Virtually silent, maintenance-free, clean. No greasy chain to worry about.
Those bullhorn bars on the left will give multiple hand positions without the complexity of drops. The tooled leather saddle at the top is proper craftsmanship — some kind of engraved design that'll only look better with age. Brooks or similar.
The orange grips are a statement. They'll pop against the black lugs and natural bamboo once everything's assembled. Small colour choices like this transform a build from functional to personal.
The hub shell on the right suggests attention to wheel building details. Someone here isn't just bolting parts together — they're thinking about every component choice.
There's something pure about a single speed, especially belt-driven. No derailleurs to adjust. No cables to replace. Just clean lines and honest mechanics. The frame Dave built during the workshop deserves that simplicity.
The concrete floor and industrial feel of this photo is workshop reality. Before the glamour shots against scenic backdrops, there's this: components spread out, plans taking shape, anticipation building. 🔧
