Lovley build by Paul, he's also written a blog explaining everything in more detail!
Paul documented everything. Blog posts, build photos, the whole journey from raw tubes to finished bike. And then he took it to the mountains.
The setting here is somewhere Mediterranean — Spain or southern France, probably. Dry grass, olive-green scrub, mountains stacking to the horizon. A roadside pole provides the lean, and the bamboo frame glows against all that dusty landscape.
Red painted lugs give Paul's build a distinctive character. Against the natural bamboo tubes, they add visual anchors without overwhelming the organic aesthetic. It's confident colour work that says someone thought carefully about finish.
Drop bars, compact crankset, disc brakes — the spec for long rides in varied terrain. Two bottles suggest proper hydration discipline, essential when the sun's beating down and the next water source might be villages away.
Writing about your build matters. It forces you to articulate decisions, understand processes, remember details that fade with time. Paul's blog captures what the photo can't: the frustrations, breakthroughs, and quiet satisfaction of finishing.
The mountains wait in the distance. The road curves toward them. Everything a cyclist needs is right here: a bike built by hand, a landscape worth exploring, and the time to enjoy both.
Documentation complete, adventure ongoing. Nice one, Paul. 🏔️
