Gravel lugged kit in build!
Gravel lugged kit in progress. This is the moment when frame becomes real.
Our pre-lugged system uses pre-formed joints in black — you can see the seat tube junction here, where chainstays, seat stays, and seat tube all meet. The bamboo tubes slot in, get bonded and reinforced, and suddenly you have a gravel frame.
The workshop setting tells the story. Tools on pegboards, power equipment on benches, blue-taped jigs holding alignment. This isn't a factory floor — it's where individual frames are built, one at a time, by people learning the craft.
That junction in the foreground is critical for rear wheel clearance and drivetrain alignment. Get it wrong and nothing else matters. The pre-formed lug takes some of the guesswork out, but the skill is in the preparation and bonding.
For home builders, this is the most rewarding phase. The planning is done. The tubes are cut. Now you're actually assembling something that will become rideable. The materials in your hands will carry you over gravel, through woods, across continents if you want.
That potential is what makes workshop photos exciting. Every finished bike started here, held in a jig, waiting to become. 🔧
