Gravel lugged frame build by Chris.

Chris absolutely nailed this gravel build. Clean lines, sorted component choice, and that perfect balance between performance and practicality that makes a great all-rounder.

The foundation is our lugged gravel frame with natural bamboo tubes and black flax fibre joints. What makes this build pop is the attention to colour coordination — tan bar tape on the drops matching the tan sidewalls on those Hunt wheels. It's a small detail that pulls the whole bike together.

Running a Shimano GRX groupset, which is the gold standard for gravel these days. The 1x setup keeps the cockpit clean and eliminates the front derailleur faff. No chain drops, no cross-chaining worries — just click and go. The hydraulic disc brakes mean all-weather confidence without having to think about pad wear in the wet.

The geometry here is proper gravel: long enough wheelbase for stability on sketchy descents, short enough stem to keep the handling quick. You can see it's set up for long days — the stack height gives a comfortable position without sacrificing too much aerodynamic advantage when you want to push on.

What we love about this photo is the setting. That garden backdrop, bright green grass, trees in the background. It's a bike that's been finished, photographed, and is about to head out for its first proper shake-down ride.

Hunt wheels were a smart choice — they're tubeless-ready out of the box, stiff enough for punchy efforts, and won't break the bank like some of the boutique gravel wheelsets. The wider internal rim width is perfect for those 40c+ tyres.

Dialled in, Chris. Proper job. 👊
