Build by Daniel
Daniel's build in the desert. Prickly pear cactus, red dirt, blue sky — and a bamboo frame that belongs here completely.
The finish is almost entirely natural. No painted lugs, just the golden bamboo wrapped with what looks like clear-coated hemp or flax. The earthy tones against Arizona terrain create harmony that painted frames could never achieve.
WTB tyres with tan sidewalls continue the organic colour palette. That copper bar tape ties everything together. Daniel understood that sometimes the best design choice is restraint.
Desert gravel riding offers unique challenges. Thorns puncture tyres. Sand bogs wheels. Heat exhausts riders. But the landscape rewards those who prepare — endless visibility, quiet roads, ancient terrain.
Building a natural-finish frame for desert riding shows awareness of context. The bike doesn't fight its surroundings; it complements them. Bamboo from tropical climates meets cacti from arid ones.
Daniel took natural materials to natural terrain. The result speaks for itself. 🌵
