Jeremy Took His Road Carbon Build Bikepacking in France

Jeremy built a bamboo road bike from our road carbon home build kit — and then loaded it up and went bikepacking with it in France. He sent us a photo from the road, which is exactly the kind of thing we love to see: a kit that becomes a frame that becomes a proper adventure.

What he did

Jeremy built his frame from the road carbon home build kit — the hand-wrapped carbon-tow construction that produces a light, naturally vibration-damping bamboo frame. Then he took it where a road bike earns its keep: out on a loaded, multi-day ride.

What happened

We received a bikepacking photo from Jeremy in France — his bamboo bike out on the road, packed for the trip. That is the whole point of building rather than buying: the workshop, or the kit on your kitchen table, is just the start. The real story gets written wherever you choose to ride it.

In his words

Jeremy shared a photo rather than a write-up, so we won't put words in his mouth. The picture says it: a self-built bamboo bike, loaded and rolling, somewhere in France.

Why it matters

Bamboo's natural vibration damping is one of the reasons a self-built frame is so well suited to long days in the saddle — it takes the edge off the road so you can keep going. Jeremy didn't buy a finished bike; he built one from a kit and trusted it enough to take it bikepacking abroad. Since 2012, more than 4,000 people across 36 countries have built their own bamboo bikes with us and ridden them out into the world.
