It was a birthday’s gift, but I was looking on bamboo bikes since a while. Almost everyone around me was aware that I wanted to make one.
Did you enjoy building the bicycle from scratch and would you recommend the experience?
The building was really interesting, I learned how to work with bamboo (thanks to James videos).
What did you find most difficult about your bike build?
Sanding ! Not really difficult, but very time consuming if you want smooth jonctions. At some point I just give up cause I saw that I would never have ride this bike during summer.
What was the easiest part of the build?
Painting the lugs.
How would you describe the ride of your finished bike?
Very smooth and responsive.
What would you improve about the build experience or your finished bike?
Have choice to not include the laser cut jigs and propose to download 3D models to print them at home. It will reduce the price of the kit and I found 3D printed jigs more accurate and sturdy.
