I have many types of bikes but was up for a challenge and something different. The ride qualities and low carbon footprint were appealing
Did you enjoy building the bicycle from scratch and would you recommend the experience?
Absolutely. Brought out some latent OCD tendencies, but mentally stimulating and often challenging problem solving.
What did you find most difficult about your bike build?
The learning curve working with the resin. It IS temperature sensitive regarding set up time. Recommend small batches in case it gets away from you.
What was the easiest part of the build?
Guidance from corresponding with James
How would you describe the ride of your finished bike?
Still wait for salt free roads in western NY.,USA
What would you improve about the build experience or your finished bike?
Be sure to keep my tubes wrapped for humidity during down time to prevent some cracks opening. I measured chain stay clearance for cranks off another bike. A 2x setup puts the cranks out farther from the stays. I chose a 1x, and the end of the crank arm was very close to hitting the stay. Had to do a bit of relief. Also check the derailleur hanger alignment when finished. Be sure jigs are stable from the beginning.
