What made you decide to build a bamboo bike?
Loved the build process. Loved the problem solving element, especially the tyre clearance on the chainstays. I could have been a bit braver here to be honest, but happy with result. Comfortably fits a 2.2 tyre.
Did you enjoy building the bicycle from scratch and would you recommend the experience?
The build process is made so easy with the kit.
What did you find most difficult about your bike build?
I really wanted the dead smooth, natural finish on the lugs. To get it was an extremely long process of sanding. I made a coured filler from the shavings mixed with epoxy and built it up in layers. Finish is polyurethane varnish. The lugs have had 9x coats the bamboo itself has had 4.
