The front triangle consists of three bamboo tubes: a seat tube, a down tube and a top tube. The third step of the bike building process is to shape these tubes and tack them together, making sure everything is aligned and that the frame is running to the centre line.
After selecting the appropriate length for each tube, builders will cut and file the seat tube and insert the metal components. The down tube will be the largest in diameter to allow for a stable and enjoyable ride. The down tube should be fitted to the jig first, then the seat tube and finally the top tube.
Making sure that everything fits well together, tacking glue is mixed and builders quickly tack the bamboo pieces together. Once the front triangle has been tacked together, it is time for a big break for the day!
