What made you decide to build a bamboo bike?

I wanted a gravel bike that was comfortable, light, and had better vibration control. I heard from an Global Cycling Network video that bamboo bikes dampened vibrations better, so I built a bamboo bike. (also they look cool)

Did you enjoy building the bicycle from scratch and would you recommend the experience?

It was a lot of fun to do and I'm now able to say they I built up a bike all by myself. My frame has some imperfections, but I think it adds more charm to the bike. I would recommend this experience to anybody who likes to build their own stuff, and is cool when things might not go exactly as planned.

What did you find most difficult about your bike build?

The most difficult part of it had to be the component fitting. The rear triangle of my frame ended up being a little wonky, so the parts I purchased wouldn't fit on it properly. to avoid running into this issue, I would suggest waiting to buy your components until after you finish the frame.

What was the easiest part of the build?

The easiest part of the build would be shaping the ends of the bamboo. It took a lot of time as I only had 80 grit sandpaper, but it was easy.

How would you describe the ride of your finished bike?

Smooth and quick.

What would you improve about the build experience or your finished bike?

I would buy my own components to ensure they work properly with my frame, and I would put weights on top of the jig to make sure it doesn't move while the glue is drying.
